Description

Iron Throne is a dark collection of metallic percussive and semimelodic effects, ideal for horror and suspense scoring and post production effects. We used bows, metal rods, fists, nylon, brushes and more to lift all manner of demon song from this contraption.

This little beast is a very, very eerie and dark collection of metallic percussive and semimelodic effects, ideal for use in horror and suspense scoring, sound design, trailer effects and post production, experimental and ambient music, or anything else you can think to do with it. The origins of the strange creation/discovery will remain a forbidden secret – even though we had a contest where over 130 people tried to guess its origins. What we can tell you is that we beat and played the hell out of it… or in to it, depending on how you look at it. We used bows, mallets, metal rods, rubber balls, fingers, fists, drum sticks, nylon, metal brushes, rasps and files, water and earth to lift all manner of demon song from this contraption.

We used viola bows on the throne edges to create eerie melodic and dissonant tones. Several types of bowed instrument sets are included, including long sustains, medium gliss effects, short staccato, spiccato, and tremolo sustains. There are a number of different mallet rubs, brush, finger, and comb effects to explore. The finger drags, rubber ball, and flat mallet rubs were created by dragging the edge of the mallets (or fingers) along surfaces on the throne, in long arcs and lines. This caused it to resonate in a similar fashion to a rubbed gong. Mallet strikes were produced with wooden, felt, and metal tipped mallets and sticks to produce standard metal percussion sets. For Iron Throne 2.0, we created brand new ambiences, drones and atmospheric pads from the raw source recordings. This library also contains 20 new custom FX presets to give you instant inspiration for your next film/video game score, soundtrack or music composition.

Kontakt Format

This library is designed for the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later. Kontakt is an industry-standard advanced virtual instrument software platform. You can view screenshots of this library’s custom graphical user interface in the image gallery above. This library is packed with features to provide you a wide range of sound shaping parameter controls, each one totally automation-ready in your host environment or Kontakt’s stand-alone mode. Learn more about Kontakt by Clicking Here.

This is a standard Kontakt open-format library, so the free Kontakt Player does not fully support it and can only run it in a limited “demo mode”. However, the sample directories are unlocked so you can use them in other wav-compatible software, sampler and synth formats. The special Libraries tab doesn’t support this open-format Kontakt library, but you can use the standard File browser tab and import this library into the Kontakt Quickload window for easy loading and navigation.
