Lush, layerable strings
Kithara’s four-layer engine offers deep control of over 350 sound sources. The Attack layer delivers crisp plucks and short elements like a marcato, while the Sustain layers introduce depth with textural loops, strummed beds, e-bow drones, and pads. The Release layer activates as sustained sounds fade, adding natural decay or subtle sound design elements. Each layer can be individually customized, enabling you to mix and match articulations and fine-tune sounds.
Immersive effects
Explore over 300 expertly designed presets, easily filtered by bowed, plucked, textural, and rhythmic qualities, as well as by mood and instrument type. Transform the tone of each layer with curated Character FX, adding vintage, tape-like warmth with Degrade, sharpening and distorting textures with Shatter, or creating a dreamlike blur with Diffuse. Each effect offers a unique sonic flavor, with precise controls for further refinement.
Delicate details
Kithara’s Fragments engine introduces granular, fluttering effects that infuse your textures and pads with intricate details. These fragments drift through the sustain and release layers, creating evolving harmonic patterns that ripple with subtle variations, adding depth and motion to your soundscapes. With precise control over movement and harmony, the Fragments engine lets you shape velocity, pitch, and density, tailoring their delicate and unpredictable nature to your composition.
Sculpt your soundscape
Kithara’s flexible modulation system lets you dynamically adjust volume, panning, tuning, and effects, breathing life into each parameter and evolving your sounds in real time. The options page offers advanced customization with velocity controls, aftertouch assignments, and a Tightness knob for precise timing and responsiveness. True Mapping ensures seamless integration across layers, providing full control over key range and triggering.
Play it with Kontrol keyboards
Kithara offers full integration with Kontrol keyboards and NKS. Effortlessly browse and control your sounds with the detailed display, add expression with the mod wheel, and assign polyphonic aftertouch to panning, tuning, stereo spread, reverb send, and filters for deeper control of your sound.
